Amazon Kindle trade-in program helps customers pay for Kindle Fire

Amazon’s expanded trade-in program for the existing Kindle lineup can significantly reduce the cost of the Kindle Fire for those looking to upgrade when it launches Nov. 15. At its best, it can make the cost of a brand new Kindle Fire plummet to just $64.

Even the very first Kindle ever can be traded in, albeit for just $12. But hey, that’s the technology world for you… and let’s face it, the original Kindle probably belongs in a museum by now anyways. On the other hand, if you are sitting on the latest Kindle DX, you can trade it in for $135, which makes getting that new Kindle Fire a no-brainer. Most other Kindle models will net you somewhere between $30 and $50.

To check out how much your Kindle could be worth in a trade-in, check it out at Amazon here. You can probably get a little bit more for it on eBay if you care to try, but Amazon’s trade-in program is definitely more convenient.
